Down Home Dog Biscuits are the dog treat that comes straight from the farm. Good solid ingredients make this a dog food of good taste and easy to make. These dog biscuits can be the basis of many other flavors and variations. Try adding browned meat into the mix and watch your dog go crazy. A good solid dog recipe that allows for experimentation when making dog treats.
1/3 cup butter or margarine softened
1/4 cup meat oil
1/2 cup Powdered milk
1 egg beaten
3/4 cup hot water or meat juices
1 bouillon cube liquefied your choice of flavor
3 cups whole wheat flour
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl pour hot water over the butter. Stir in powdered milk, bouillon and meat oil. Add flour a little at a time mixing well as you go. Knead for 4 minutes, adding more flour if necessary to make a very stiff dough. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into the desired shape. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 50 minutes. Allow to cool and dry out before serving.
