Hot Dog Treats are possibly the easiest way to vary your dogs diet with a dog recipe that can't be any simpler. Hot dogs are always delicious for dogs but this dog recipe takes it one step further, taking hot dogs to the level of being a dog treat. The thorough cooking of the hot dogs gives these dog treats a stronger taste and a jerky like texture that is perfect for dog treats.
1 package low fat hot dogs
1 microwave oven
Slice the hot dogs lengthwise into thin strips. Place on lots of paper towels in the microwave on a safe plate. Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Remove from the microwave and let cool for another 5 minutes. Return the partially cooked hot dogs to the microwave and cook for a another 5 minutes. Remove and allow to cool. These hot dog treats are finished when they are similar to beef Jerky when they are cooled. Cut into small pieces for fun little treats any time. Keep them cool in the refrigerator for adding to recipes or as a dog treat.
