The King of Dog Biscuits is also one of the simplest to make. This dog food recipe is a standard dog cookie recipe with a little extra flavor. These dog treats are the classic dog bone recipe that can be taken in any direction. A good dog treat and a dog food recipe to remember. Many flavors of dog bones, dog cookies or dog treats can be developed from this basic recipe. Enjoy making dog treats for your dog.
2 cups rye flour
1/4 tsp vanilla extract or other flavoring
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2/3 cup warm water
1/2 cup white flour
1/4 cup cornmeal
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all the ingredients into a dough on a flat surface. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into shapes like dog bones, circles, stars etc.. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet for 30 minutes. Watch closely they don't burn. Keep in a sealed container to make these dog cookies last a long time. A good dog treat.
