Is it better to walk with your dog out in front of your or behind. She likes being out front more.

You can do both but I guess a dog that has been to obedient school would be taught to walk beside you. I see people in the neighborhood with their dog at the maximum extension of a retractable dog leash and the dog is still tugging for more length. The dog enjoys the freedom but it can be more unsafe that way too.

I think walking beside you might be more polite.

I would say walking out front occasionally is okay. But it is better if they are by your side for better control.

I agree that walking by your side is good manners.

Dogs should walk on the side for sure.
